Wayne RESA Workshop

Librarians and technology leaders sat in on two workshops led by John Sowash

Several time a year librarians and technology leaders in Wayne County (Michigan) join together for a day of professional development. John Sowash was asked to return for a second year to lead two workshops for the benefit of these educators.

John’s morning presentation was titled “Let’s Talk Google Apps” and featured an overview a Q&A session related to Google Apps for Education. The attendees were excited about the possibilities presented by Google Apps, especially the growing collection of third party applications such as BrainPop and EasyBib that can be added to this cloud-based productivity suite. You can view the complete presentation here.

The second session of the morning was a battle between iPads and Chromebooks. John compared the two device head to head and facilitated a discussion on which device was the right one for schools. No matter how you approach it, the decision to go with one device over the other is a difficult choice to make! The participants left the event feeling more equipped to make an informed decision regarding future technology purchases.
